Bundaberg Mature Women Inc. meets weekly on Wednesdays, from 9.30 till 12.00 noon, at the Bundaberg Bowls Club, Quay St, Bundaberg. Generally on the fourth Wednesday of the month there is a social outing. Membership is open to women aged 40 something to 90 plus. Weekly meetings consist of a guest speaker, morning tea and an informal meeting agenda.

A group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2000, as there was an identified need for a voice at the local and state government level from the Community of Slade Point. SPACA objectives are to promote, encourage, and foster the improvement and betterment of the community of Slade Point.

The Murchison Action Group (MAG), formed in the year 2000, provides a community forum for the discussion of issues that affect the quality of life in the town, and a focal point for community action in support of the town. The Group meets bi-monthly to discover ways and means of improving a number of long-standing issues that impact on the daily lives of the townspeople, and to promote ideas for new improvements that enrich the existence of residents and the attraction of the town to its many visitors. All local and district residents are welcome to make a contribution to MAG meetings and activities.
