Licence Testing

Barry was a Workplace Trainer for VicRoads. Barry has trained over 80% of Victorias current Licence Testers. The LTO's are the people that will be assessing you.  Also Barry has ttrained over 95% of the current VicRoads Test Route Designers.

In fact Barry wrote a Licence Testing Officer Training Manual using all of the teaching points that all of the current LTO's are trained and retrained in.

Barry's Drive Test knowledge is exceptional in reference to the following areas of your Drive Test;                   

Task Items = 10 sets of Criteria you are expected to perform correctly in a multi assessed task;                         - Stage Items = 2 sets of criteria that you are expected to perform to during the 'ENTIRE' test;                                 - Critical Errors = 8 Sets of Criteria relating to Road Law. You can 'Fail' your test if you score a certain amount;  - Immediate Termination Errors = 8 sets of criteria 1 of these and your Drive Test is over;

Test Routes

Also Barry has trained over 95% of the current Test Route Designers employed by VicRoads. As such, Barry knows;                                                                                                                                                                                          - 'What is compliant'  about your test, and                                                                                                                             - 'What is NOT compliant' in reference to tasks and the environment you will be tested in.

Barry's Training History (CV)

Barry has been involved in various fields of  Driver Training since 1975. This resulted in his gaining experience in training (ask him about it) and development of young and not so young drivers in motor vehicles of the following vehicle categories;

• Motorcycles
• Motor Cars
• Light Commercial
• Medium Rigid Vehicles
• Heavy Rigid Vehicles
• Heavy Combination Vehicles
  

Barry, our Senior Trainer has also been involved in instructional aspects of Defensive Driving Courses utilising the Cedergren Skid Frames as well as standard commercial vehicles. Barry has also conducted training activities in the following areas for the learner driver to the more advanced and experienced driver dealing specifically with the following

• Cross Country Driving Skills,
• Winching and Recovery Operations,
• Advanced Driving

As our Senior Trainer Barry 's responsibilities require him to set the training platform for all of our Learner/Trainees as well as our dedicated and patient trainers. In order that all of our training be of the highest calibre Barry holds the following Certifications and Skills

• Accredited Defensive Driving Instructor
• Accredited Advanced Driving Instructor
• Certificate III Motor Vehicle Driving Instruction
• Certificate IV Motor Vehicle Instruction
• Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training
• Diploma Vocational Education and Training
• Graduate Certificate in Vocational Education and Training

Vehicle Driving Instructors

• As a minimum all of our (part time) Driver Trainers must hold a Driving Instructors Authority applicable to the state where the instruction is to be conducted
• Hold or be in the process of gaining a First Aid Certificate (Level Two preferred)
• Hold or be in the process of gaining Current CPR Certification
• Conduct concurrent training to upgrade personal knowledge
• Must undergo regular training in Defensive Driving Habits and Attitudes
• Undertake periodic driving assessments in order to set higher personal driving habits
